Avon Travel Basketball promotes and supports competitive boy’s and girl's basketball teams to enhance and improve players’ skills fostering a positive environment of sportsmanship and teamwork. Avon Travel Basketball offers the opportunity for Avon Boys and Girls in the 5th through 8th grades to play at a level which encourages growth as an individual and as a team.
Brad Seaman Basketball Jam
Brad Seaman is one of the premier skills coaches in the area. He is running another camp next week at the JCC in Canton.
Brad will have two guest Coaches ( Coach Derek Retos-Tufts Assistant Men's Basketball, and Coach Eric Alleyne-Rhode Island College Assistant Men's Basketball ) who will be coming to lecture on various subjects such as: the recruiting process from a players and coaches perspective, and the requirements of a Student-Athlete. They will also be demonstrating/lecturing on various scoring drills and skills to take home.
The camp is for boys and girls grades 5-12. Players will be grouped by skill level and each day will cover different subjects such ( Shot Preparation, Ball Handling, Functional Athletic Movements, European Footwork, Defensive Schemes, Finishing at the basket, and many other things. This is a great way to start or continue gearing up for the upcoming season.

Derek Retos joined the Tufts University Men’s Basketball staff in the Summer of 2015. Retos is a graduate of Brandeis University (Waltham, Massachusetts), where he was a three-year captain and four-year member of their Men’s Basketball program from 2010-2014. He would go on to graduate as the schools all time leader in three pointers made and free throw percentage. In addition, Retos earned the Athletic Directors award his senior year, which is given each year to a student who has displayed general excellence in representing Brandeis Athletics. Retos earned his degree at Brandeis in Business in 2014. Originally from Foxborough, Massachusetts, Retos graduated from the Brimmer & May School in Chestnut Hill in 2010 as the schools all time leading scorer.
Eric Alleyne begins his first season as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Rhode Island College. Alleyne assists Head Men’s Basketball Coach Michael Byrnes with all facets of the program, including recruiting, scouting, administering practice and game coaching. “We are very excited to have Eric back on the Rhode Island College sidelines,” Byrnes said. “He had two successful seasons in a Rhode Island College uniform, played in the NCAA Tournament and knows the Little East Conference, so he will be a huge asset for our program. I'm really looking forward to working with him.” “I am truly blessed to be fortunate enough to give back to the institution that has done so much for me,” Alleyne said. “I am looking forward to working with the team and the coaching staff.” The Watertown native played for two years at RIC, appearing in 57 games and averaging 10.4 points, 3.5 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. As a senior in 2014-15, Alleyne was named Second Team All-Little East. He played in all 28 games, starting 27 of them. He averaged 14.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Alleyne led RIC to a 20-8 overall record and reached the championship game of the Little East Tournament for the ninth consecutive season.
